This Level 3 IOSH qualification equips managers to integrate health & safety into strategy, governance, and cultural initiatives. Building on Managing Safely, it combines business planning, ESG thinking, and people leadership to create resilient operations.
ZTC’s delivery incorporates Highwave Training case studies, dashboards, and leadership simulations so delegates can immediately influence their organisation’s performance.

Entry Requirements
- Ideally IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) plus supervisory experience.
- Access to organisational performance data to support assignments.
- Commitment to independent study between sessions (approx. 6–8 hours per assignment).
- English proficiency suitable for report writing and presentations.

- Risk appetite, assurance mapping, and integration with enterprise frameworks.
- Coordinating audits, inspections, and management reviews.

Module 3 – Leadership, Culture & Change
- Leadership styles, psychological safety, and engagement strategies.
- Designing communication plans and competency development pathways.
- Influencing executive sponsors and frontline teams.
Module 4 – Sustainability & Responsible Business
- Aligning health & safety with ESG frameworks and global reporting standards.
- Managing supply chain governance, ethical procurement, and wellbeing initiatives.
- Supporting community impact and sustainability commitments.
Module 5 – Data, Analytics & Reporting
- Developing leading/lagging indicators and visual dashboards.
- Predictive analytics, benchmarking, and storytelling with data.
- Reporting to boards, regulators, and external stakeholders.
Module 6 – Capstone Business Improvement Project
- Project scoping, benefit realisation, and stakeholder alignment.
- Financial modelling, resource planning, and implementation roadmaps.
- Presentation delivery, peer review, and reflective learning.
Typically delivered over six tutor-led days (or a six-week blended format). Assessment comprises three IOSH-assessed assignments:
- Strategic business case demonstrating governance alignment.
- Risk improvement project with implementation and monitoring plan.
- Reflective statement evidencing leadership growth and cultural impact.
- Upon successful moderation, delegates receive the IOSH Safety & Health for Business Level 3 certificate (RQF).
- Certificate valid for 2 years from date of issue.
- Supports CPD requirements for IOSH, IIRSM, and industry bodies.
- Progression pathways include ProQual Level 6 NVQ, OTHM Level 6/7 diplomas, ISO Lead Auditor programmes, and IOSH Leading Safely.
